SALT LAKE CITY—The Utah Jazz have acquired 8-year NBA veteran point guard George Hill from the Indiana Pacers in a 3-team trade. The news was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
The Jazz traded their #12 overall pick (and only first round pick) in Thursday’s NBA Draft to Atlanta. Indiana received point guard Jeff Teague from Atlanta.
Hill played his first three seasons for the San Antonio Spurs, who drafted him 26th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. The 6’3″ point guard played the last five season in Indiana, where he averaged 12.6 points per game. He joins Danté Exum in the backcourt, who is returning to basketball after missing the entire 2015-16 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The Jazz now only hold their remaining 42nd, 52nd, and 60th overall picks in the Draft.
