The Utah Jazz Play Their First Preseason Game Tonight

The Utah Jazz will be in action tonight at EnergySolutions Arena at 7:00 PM as they welcome in the Portland Trail Blazers.  This will be an opportunity for the players as well as the coaches to see where they are at in their preparations for the upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see what the players’ understanding is of the new offense and defense that Head Coach Quin Snyder is setting up.  At shootaround today the media was able to talk to Quin Snyder, Trey Burke, and Gordon Hayward (The audio is available in the interviews sections of espn700sports.com).  They all mentioned how it will be good to go up against another team to see where they are at.  Yes, it is preseason, and games don’t count, but the Jazz need to take full advantage of these opportunities to help develop this young team.  This could be a sloppy game, but it will nice to see this team in full action against another NBA team.

Jazz guard Ian Clark will not play in tonight’s game as he is out with left patella tendinitis and a sprained left ankle.  Guard/Forward Carrick Felix is also out with his left shoulder sprain.

Jazz Rookie Guard/Forward Rodney Hood is questionable with a right hip flexor strain.
