The Utah Jazz improve to 3-0 in the preseason as they defeat the Los Angeles Clippers at EnergySolutions Arena on Monday night 102-89.
The Utah Jazz had 6 players score in double figures led by Trey Burke with 16 points and 8 assists. Rudy Gobert had a huge night on the boards as he finishes with 20 rebounds and 11 points. Derrick Favors adds 15 points and 11 rebounds. Rodney Hood scores 12 points in his preseason debut. Trevor Booker and Gordon Hayward each finish with 10 points in the victory.
Offensively, the Jazz played well tonight as they assisted on 30 of 41 made baskets. They shot 14-30 (46.7%) from 3-point range. Trey Burke hits 4 of the 3-pointers, while Dante Exum hits 3. Gordon Hayward, Rodney Hood, and Trevor Booker each hit 2.
The Jazz made the extra pass tonight as they were constantly looking for the open man and the effort paid off as they were able to pick up the win. The Clippers were held to 42% (34-81) shooting from the field, but did out shoot the Jazz from the free throw line as they shot 16-22 and the Jazz only shot 6-12.
Yes, this is preseason, but a win is a win. It is a chance to help the Jazz gain momentum as well as confidence as they continue to push towards the regular season. They have been a fun team to watch this preseason.
