The Utah Jazz waived another player Thursday morning as they waive Grant Jerrett. Jerrett appeared in three games as a reserve for the Jazz last season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game. He did not see any action in the 5 preseason games for the Jazz as he was still recovering from the separated shoulder he sustained during Summer League. The Jazz now have 17 players on their roster, which will need to be trimmed down to 15 before the regular season begins. It will be interesting to see which direction the Jazz will go when they make their final 2 cuts.
This has been a good week for the team as they have been able to practice and get to a more set routine. The Jazz will hold an open practice Friday night at EnergySolutions Arena at 6:30 PM that is open to the public and free. Doors will open at 5:30 PM. The Utah Jazz will next be in action on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
