Utah Jazz Practice Report

The Utah Jazz tip-off the regular season on Wednesday as they held their final practice on Tuesday before the season gets going for real on Wednesday in Detroit against the Detroit Pistons.  The Jazz and Pistons will get underway at 5:30 PM.

Wednesday night will mark the possible regular season debuts of rookies Tibor Pleiss, Trey Lyles, and Raul Neto.  Each of them had their moments during the preseason.  Now it is time for them to step up as the regular season begins and now everything counts.  Raul Neto played well defensively through the preseason and at times made open jumpers.  As the season progresses, his offensive game should develop, and he should be an important role if the team’s success.  The media caught up with Neto after practice.  Here is that audio:

Derrick Favors is entering his 6th NBA season and is one of the team leaders for the Utah Jazz.  He provides the scoring and defense that this team needs.  He, along with Gordon Hayward, will carry the Jazz this year.  He will need to have an all-star type season if the Jazz want to be able to make the playoffs this year.  Derrick Favors talked with the media after practice.  Here is the audio:

This will be the 2nd year with Quin Snyder as the head coach of the Utah Jazz.  He loves to preach defense.  He wants to see improvement every day.  The Jazz were one of the best defensive teams last year.  They need to continue their strong defensive play this year.  Here is the audio of Quin Snyder after practice:
