Utah Extends Deal With Under Armour

The University of Utah announced Thursday morning they have extended their apparel agreement with Under Armour.

SALT LAKE CITY–The University of Utah announced Thursday morning they have extended their apparel agreement with Under Armour.  The new deal is through June 2027, is worth a total of $65 million.

According to Forbes.com, the Utes’ previous deal of $2.5 million per year was tied for the 43rd-most lucrative deal in the nation, as of early 2016.  With $6.5 million per year starting in July 2017, it bumps the Utes up with the leaders in the country, and third in the Pac-12 behind UCLA and Cal (who signed an $86 million deal with UA this spring).

“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Under Armour,” said Utah Director of Athletics Chris Hill in a prepared statement. “The relationship has been positive from all angles—first and foremost the many ways it benefits our student-athletes.”

“The University of Utah has been a long-standing partner of the Under Armour brand since 2008 as one of our first all-school partnerships,” said Nick Carparelli, Senior Director of College Sports, Under Armour, also in a prepared statement. “They have been an integral building block of our brand’s growth in collegiate athletics and we look forward to outfitting the Utes in innovative footwear, apparel and equipment for the next decade and beyond.”

Terms of the contract can be found here.
