Utes Rebound, Beat Wash St 86-64

The Utah Utes were looking to rebound from their loss to Arizona, and beat Washington State at the Huntsman Center Wednesday night, 86-64.

Utes guard Brandon Taylor led the Utes with 18 points, followed by Delon Wright and Jordon Loveridge with 17 and 14 points, respectively.

The Utes were without standout freshman center Jakob Poeltl, and instead relied on Dallin Bachynski and Jeremy Olsen for production near the basket. Bachynski finished with 6 points, but had an early exit after an overall rough night. Olsen finished with 8 points, going 4-6 shooting.

Utah started the game down 2-0 before the opening tipoff. A Utah player was penalized for dunking in the pregame warmups, and Washington State was granted technical foul free throws before the opening tip.

The Utes led 46-27 at halftime, but underwent a barrage of three-pointers as Washington State opened up the second half going 6-7 from behind the arc. The Utes defense tightened as the offense found its rhythm, and the Utes ran away with it.
